Student requirements for Certification
For information regarding prerequisites and Certification requirements, and I-ACT membership application please go to those links.
We strongly advise each student completes their A&P prerequisites before training here, to ensure the student has the appropriate knowledge to succeed in this Practical Training.
The classroom
Each Student is required to complete and document 100 hours in the classroom. Since this Training is presented in an intensive format, we suggest you participate in our optional pre study program which will better prepare you for this Training.
Our classroom hours begin at 9:00 a.m. and go through until 7:00 p.m. Lunch is between noon and 1 p.m. which includes some type of Instruction during this time which is relevant to the Training and pertinent to the topics taught that day.
Our Training School is smoke and fragrance free. We have appreciation for Students who are moving towards a healthy life style and respect everyone.
For interested Students outside of Colorado and the U.S., we can provide Certification Training for you as well. Please contact James for information.
Dates
We prefer to offer this Training in a manner that is easiest for the student, based in thorough comprehension of the materials, and time management. Three or four weekends work well; Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday, if possible.
Our suggested Training dates include:
May 3 ~ May 26; August 9 ~ September 1; September 6 ~ September 29, October 4 ~ October 27, 2013, and January 17 ~ February 9, 2014.
If these dates do not work for you please contact us with your proposed Training dates and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. When your suggested dates and the schedule of the Instructors are coordinated, and a deposit with a School application are received, that Training will be scheduled.
Curriculum
The required lesson plans and A&P are taken from the following two texts used during your training:
1)
Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology
Eldra Pearl Solomon, PhD
ISBN # 978-1-4160-4405-5 edition 3
2)
Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology
Donald C. Rizzo
ISBN # 13: 9781401871888 edition 2
This School’s curriculum covers information and materials necessary for each completing Student to become well skilled, preparing you to successfully enter into our profession. During your Training we tutor each Student for the I-ACT required 15 minute presentation on Anatomy and Physiology, and final written test.
All lessons include: workbook; handouts and charts; demonstrations with application of various skills; A&P lectures and review; Q&A for clarification; written tests; video, and audio tapes, etc.
Other topics will cover: health; training in the operation, theory, and function of the closed system equipment; safety and the proper sanitation procedures of the device; learn and perform Colon Hydrotherapy sessions using hands-on table work with models; and daily practice.
Also, you will learn telephone competence, listening and communication skills, indications for the Class II device, evaluation of the client's intake form with screening for contraindications. You will also learn to explain the basic functions of the device, and basic Anatomy and Physiology to the client, as well as recording client session notes and client follow-up after the session. Business ethics, proper advertising and office procedures, etc. are addressed as well.
Practical hands-on
The Student is required to complete and fully participate in the giving, receiving, observation, and participation of 25 supervised Colon Hydrotherapy sessions. Our facility provides the necessary models for each apprentice to practice and learn. Each model pays $35.00 per session.
Tuition
Our tuition is $2,900. A non refundable deposit of $900.00 with a completed School application is due sixty (60) calendar days before Training begins with the balance of $2,000.00 due in full at least twenty-one (21) calendar days before the first day of Training.
As we're able, this School may offer a partial scholarship towards the Student's tuition. To demonstrate our commitment to serve you and this profession, for the first time ever we will accept payments for your deposit (conditions apply).
Please contact James now with additional questions and to obtain a School application; apply today. Let’s discuss how we can help you participate in our next Training.
Device
The equipment we prefer to educate our Students with and facilitate sessions is the Dotolo Toxygen, a closed system device which is registered and cleared with the FDA, and is certified to the following international quality standards: ISO 9001:2000, ISO 13485:2003 and CE (European Union), and is also licensed by Health Canada. We also offer Training on the Hydro-San, another closed system device.
Most significant, the Dotolo Toxygen device has been clinically proven in 2006 to be an effective prep option for Colonoscopy.
There are many advantages to this system, and through my experience and research this device functions and responds similarly to the body's natural intestinal motility providing a complementary experience to the nervous system and entire body.
